Crimson Moon
Face the Savage Dead Gods solo or with a friend in this Gothic action-packed RPG.
What was the project?
Working alongside an exceptionally talented team and in close partnership with another UI Artist, I helped shape the UI/UX experience for Crimson Moon, creating an interface that complemented the game’s immersive fantasy world without competing with it. The design language was deliberately minimal and considered, drawing from the savage, raw aesthetic of the game through restrained typography, rugged forms, and carefully crafted visual details.
My focus was on creating intuitive, functional experiences that felt naturally embedded within the world, balancing usability and clarity with a distinctive visual identity that reinforced the game’s brutal and atmospheric tone.
My role
- Designed and implemented UI systems in Unreal Engine, translating visual designs into functional, responsive in-game screens and experiences.
- Created and maintained UI assets and visual components, ensuring consistency across menus, HUD elements, icons, and interactive screens.
- Worked closely with the client and game designers to develop intuitive navigation, interaction flows, and player-facing systems.
- Built and iterated on UI prototypes directly in Unreal, using rapid testing to refine layouts, interactions and overall player experience.
- Developed a cohesive UI visual language that integrated with the game’s fantasy art direction while maintaining readability and usability.
- Collaborated closely with programmers, designers, and artists to ensure UI designs were technically feasible, performant, and faithfully represented in the final game.
