Yo ho, let’s go!
The sprinting begins! This is the start of the sprints to build the first official Foshies title: Beards and Booty!
This post signifies that we are raising the colours and unfurling the sails as we begin work on Beards and Booty – the first game from Foshies!
Beards and Booty (or B & B for short) is to be an optionally collaborative card game where you, as players, choose to be Pirate captains in search of fortune and fame, or (in this game’s parlance) Beards and Booty!
The gameplay will focus around rolling dice to attempt to match skills on your player card to defeat monsters laid out by your opponent – before you take your turn and attempt to get your own back.
Each turn your opponent will flip over a card from their draw pile and reveal a monster, obstacle, or challenge. It will be up to you to either try to match the dice combination on the card and collect the booty reward or use one of the skills from your player card to defeat the card and move on.
If you are unable to do that, you can try again next turn!
The winner of the game is the one who collects the most booty by the time one of you defeats all of their cards and you have, collaboratively, defeated the end of game boss.
This is the idea, now to on to making it and seeing if its fun!
