We know work shouldn’t be this much fun!

Foshies. A company that brings joy, excitement, and laughter through adventures in story-driven games.

Our mission

We make games, tell stories, try to make people laugh, and do all we can to bring joy to those around us.

We do this for families and friends, people who want to get around a table to laugh and play and explore imaginary worlds together.

We do this for ourselves, to push our skills as artists, designers, and game makers and see just what we can achieve when nothing holds us back.

We also do this for people who want to be a part of the making of the game, the communities on Kickstarter and Facebook who enjoy supporting a maker’s dreams and ideas through financial, moral, and interactive support.

We do this for our family so that we can create together, that we can share our passion with each other, and spend time together playing games that Foshies makes.

Which means we’d better get to work!

Making fun
by making games.

How do we do what we do?

When we make games, we follow a process, a process that we’ve listed below. These aren’t hard or fast rules but it’s great to have a process to follow so that we can create milestones to work towards. It can also help us stay focused on one title and not one hundred!

  • Come up with the idea for the game – and try to stick to just the one…
  • Build a prototype – this is where the fun begins. Just remember to keep it simple. The essence of the game to come.
  • Iterate – Each time you test, notice what works and what doesn’t. Subtract the bad, add some new. Strip the game down to its core and make it as simple as possible while keeping the intrigue high.
  • Theme the game, build branding, begin artwork – this is where the game starts to take real shape and can be the most exciting as it goes from an idea into reality.
  • Update prototype – settling on a style and theme leads you into rounding out your prototype into something you can call a ‘real game’.
  • Contact factories for quotes – this is massively important as it will define your costs from this point on.
  • Build Kickstarter page and launch when ready – Assuming you go down this route of course, but it can be massively rewarding if you do. Not only in financial terms but also in the community you will build.
  • Manufacture the game – Seeing a factory full of boxes of your games, or even just a single palette. Getting this far is a massive achievement!
  • Get the games from the factory to the fulfillment centers – this is the real challenge, particularly
  • Fulfillment – backers, customers, reviewers, they will be thrilled to see the box containing your game arrive on their doorstep.
  • Ongoing sales – well, we can hope anyway!
